Mohammad Gharipour
Mohammad Gharipour was raised in Isfahan, Iran and earned his Masters of Science in Architecture from the University of Tehran in 2000. He recently defended his Ph.D. dissertation, Pavilion Structure in Persianate Gardens: the Reflection in the Visual and Textual Media, and received his Ph.D. from the Georgia Institute of Technology. Mr. Gharipour’s articles include “The Achaemenid Contribution to the History of Garden Design” in Middle Eastern & North African Intellectual and Cultural Studies; “Healing Gardens: An Examination of the Relationship between Healing and Natural Environment” in The Journal of Environmental Studies; and “Pure House X&Y: A Comparative Study on the Influences of Climate, Social Context, and Cultural Behavior in the Design of Sukiya and Safavid Houses,” in Architecture Asia. He currently teaches courses on architectural history at the College of Art and Architecture, the University of North Carolina, Charlotte.
