Non-Qatari residents of the following countries do not need a visa to enter and exit Qatar: Kuwait, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Oman. Residents of all other countries are required to carry visas.
Residents of 33 countries may obtain a tourist entry visa to Qatar upon arrival at the airport, which is valid for 2 weeks. A single tourist visa costs $28.00 and is valid for one month. The 33 countries covered by Qatar’s entry visa program include Andorra – Australia – Austria – Belgium – Brunei – Canada – Denmark – Finland – France – Germany – Greece – Hong Kong – Iceland – Ireland – Italy – Japan – Liechtenstein – Luxembourg – Malaysia – Monaco – Netherlands – New Zealand – Norway – Portugal – San Marino – Singapore – South Korea – Spain – Sweden – Switzerland – UK – USA – Vatican City.
Citizens from countries not listed above may arrange a visa prior to travel through a Qatar-based hotel or tour company, including the hotel where the traveler will be staying. One item that such citizens may need for the visa application is a letter from the Symposium Coordinator confirming registration for the Symposium. To obtain such a letter, please click here, but please note that VCU will not act as formal sponsor for a visa application.
Please note that all Symposium attendees are responsible for obtaining their own visas for entry into Qatar.
